Victory! Congratulations and Goodbye, Sweet Dog.

Yesterday evening Warby's new family came to Madison to pick him up. What a lucky dog--they are an all-American dream family! And what a lucky family (of course) for this precious fluffball. They agreed Warbucks is a mouthful, so he might be going by "Bucky" or "Teddy" pretty soon.
Love seeing this status on Petfinder.

Their terrier Cooper (15 years old) passed away earlier this year so they're happy to have a little canine back in the family.
Jake and Claire, of Warby's new family at my place.

He'll have 3 new human siblings, a lovely mom & dad, and clearly a lot of love and attention. More belly rubs are coming down the pike...
Warby with his mom Mary and kids. First stop was the terrace - I told you these were good people!
Note Warby wearing his high-fashion harness.

Love you, Warby!! XOXO

Note: I will post here when we get our next foster dog, and share the new blog link.

Prepare the Carriage! Mr. Warbucks Will Be Leaving.

Warby's new family is coming to get him today so last night we hung out and had extra fun.

He got a final bath, too, so he's fluffy and clean for his new home.

After a couple weeks, he's grown to trust me to get us into the best belly rub position.

Look how much fun Warby is having...

So Fresh & So Clean Clean

Daycare + dog park = bath time.
Warby tolerating his bath like an adult.

Holding a tiny grudge, plus America's softest fur. #fluffball

Louisiana Crawfish Boil (Likely His First)

This weekend some friends threw a huge lakeside crawfish boil bash. My first and presumably Warby's first one, too, but he's from Alabama so maybe he had one before. Who knows. It was a true party and Warby had a great time.
The pile of crawfish.                              Warby sniffing one of those spicy guys.

Warby does know how to swim and he got in the water a few times, but not out of his own free will. We were swimming and he kept acting like he was going to jump in so someone carefully carried him in--of course this is the day after his bath. #YOLO

Spent a lot of time on the dock.

Snugglefest 2014

Warby got a bath so that means he's allowed on the bed. Best 24 hours.
Sometimes he sleeps in dead-bug pose with his tiny paws up. Like.

For a quiet dog, he's pretty good at getting your attention.
"ESPN can wait, bro. Let's snuggle."

AHHHHH! (S)adoption Pending!!!!!!!!!

This is the part that is supposed to be so happy, but is heartbreaking at the same time.
The little pig in a fur coat might be going home soon.

You guys...Fluffy Dog Rescue has so many sweeties looking for families.
Also, you can meet some in person this Saturday (details in link above). Obviously Warby is a ladykiller with his boyish good looks. If you're in love with his sweet face though, consider that only a week ago, he looked like most people's grandfathers. A bath, haircut, and some sweet lovin' can transform a little dumper into a small prince!
Exhibit A. Ancient man-dog.

Bedtime-Based Victories and Failures

Here is Warby being a boss at going to bed. "Go to your bed, Warby."
"Okay sure, no problem."

Here is Warby acting like he doesn't know how to use a bed. Which is possible since is a little rescue they found at a gas station in Alabama--not a locale known for cushy dog beds.
This picture is so sweet it makes me want to squeeze his tiny face.

Stop it.

Shenanigans at the Dog Park

Warby didn't notice the firemen and police sorting out this chaos.

Park Life/Ladykiller

Warby joined his new pack of human friends at James Madison for beach volleyball. He loves to go for walks, but is also happy to hang out at the park. Word of warning though: he wants to meet and play with every other dog around so you better hold the leash when Fido walks by...

Here is Warby crushing his ladygame and also appreciating the beauty of nature as he watches the sun set. This is a philosophical canine.
Are you a stuffed animal or a real dog?

Report Card--Straight A Student

On Friday, Warby had his first day of dog daycare at the Dog Den in Madison. Check out what they had to say about him. Spoiler alert: WARBY IS A GREAT DOG.

Welcome, Pal! Nice Haircut.

Before                                                                 After

Warby joined us Tuesday night. What a laid back guy. I thought he looked older than 3 years old with his current hair (more like 72) so we gave him a trim job. He was really relaxed about the whole thing.

This is Warby standing on his hind legs like a circus dog. GET IT, WARBY!
